Clean Up Day Returns to Wartrace
The Board of Mayor and Aldermen has designated October 25-29, 2021 as “Town Clean-Up Week.” This is a great opportunity to get rid of bulky waste such as furniture, electronics and other large items up to five feet in length. Please place items on the curb by 6:30 a.m. on your designated collection day. Specific directions are attached, along with a map of the assigned pick-up days, by street. We will provide a sign-up only final sweep on Friday, Oct. 29 to address special needs. Final sweep pick-ups must be pre-approved by the Utility and Public Works Superintendent. Stop by Town Hall for this separate application.
The collections days are as follows:
October 25, 2021: Bugscuffle Road, Burnett Dr., Yell Dr., Vine St. (to McKinley St.), McKinley St., Potts Rd. (inside town limits), and Knob Creek Rd. (from McKinley St. to town limits).
October 26, 2021: Vine St. (between McKinley Dr. and Main St.), Main St. (Town Hall side of railroad tracks), Summit St., College St., Mill St., Hill St., and Knob Creek Rd. (between McKinley St. and Main St.).
October 27, 2021: Vine St. (from Main St. to Bridge St.), Sims Ave., Cedar St., Broad St., Bridge St. (Town Hall side of railroad tracks), East Blackman Blvd (Town Hall side of railroad tracks), Fairfield Rd. (between Blackman Blvd. and Sims Ave.), and Fort Circle Rd.
October 28, 2021: Coffey St., Spring St., Bridge St. (park side of railroad tracks), Bridgeview Ave., High St. (both sides of railroad track), Church St., and Fairfield Rd. East.
October 29, 2021: West Blackman Blvd. (park side of railroad tracks), Main St. (park side of railroad tracks), Smart St., Sunset Blvd., and final sweep clean-up (sign-up only).
WARTRACE FALL CLEAN UP RULES AND GUIDELINES This program is provided for residents within the Town of Wartrace city limits
Bulk items such as furniture (couches, chairs, tables, mattresses), carpeting and appliances, must be placed curbside sorted and stacked in a neat and orderly manner no later than 6:00 a.m. the morning before your scheduled cleanup day and no earlier than a week before your cleanup day. Bulk collection starts on Monday, October 25; however, actual collection time will vary due to total volume and type of materials set out. This program is for items that are not normally hauled by your trash service.
Items must be sorted and stacked separately with like items such as wood, metal, and household items.
All Town residents have one pick-up per household. Any items placed curbside after pick-up will not be picked up by the Town.
All mattresses must be placed in a mattress bag which can be purchased from retail stores such as Walmart, Amazon, Lowe’s, etc.
Any items containing glass, the glass must be secured with plastic or tape to eliminate breaking.
Any items left curbside after pick-up will be in violation of International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) 308.1 Accumulation of Rubbish or Garbage and Municipal Code Title 17-102 Premises to be kept clean.
Failure to follow city wide clean up rules and guidelines will result in items not being picked up. PROHIBITED MATERIALS
